About Me

HEART + SOUL Candle Co. is a small batch Canadian candle company, founded by April McDougald.

For as long as I can remember, candles have always been my favourite way to simplify a moment. I love how the flicker of the flame and the sound of the wooden wick help me unwind from our busy schedules, at any time of the day.

In the last few years I’ve committed to my personal growth and slowly felt the need to transition out of a 22 year career as a hairstylist. In the midst of some immense soul searching, I stumbled upon a passion for creating, in a different way. I love creating high end, clean burning candles. The exact item that can help restore balance in my home and peace in my mind, is now the fuel for my life’s purpose and my creative outlet.

I’m grateful for my path and this adventure. I look forward to connecting with a new community and watching the seeds of my intentions flourish.
